Our Break Through and Youth Accounts meets the needs of our youngest members -- because their money goals are important, too!
Break Through Account
At PFCU, we understand how important it is for college students and young professionals to establish their financial future. That’s why we created the Break Through Account, specifically designed for 16-25 year olds who are ready to take responsibility for their money. To help get you started, we’ll match up to $50* when you open your account.
PFCU also waives two (2) overdraft fees per year (up to $70 savings), because mistakes happen and we’ve got your back. While getting out there on your own can be scary, we want you to know that we’re here for you. That’s why our Member Experience Professionals are available to help you navigate through the process and answer any questions you may have along the way.

Youth Account
Starting a savings account at a young age helps children form smart money habits. Get your young saver started with Picatinny’s Youth Account, whether it’s money deposited from a piggy bank or birthday checks from grandma and grandpa. Plus, when you open an account, we’ll match your first deposit up to $50*.
When you come in to open an account, make sure you have the following:
- Valid driver’s license
- A second form of ID
- Child’s social security card

Additional Accounts for Teens
For young teens, the opportunity to manage their money is here at Picatinny Federal Credit Union. With the options below, they can open doors to a bright financial future.
- Teach your growing teens 16-18** what it means to save, and spend their own money. Open a joint savings and checking account with a full access debit card issued in their name. The Parent/Guardian must sign the Responsibility for Joint Checking Account/Debit Card with a Minor form at account opening.
- Teens 14 or older^ can open a savings account with ATM-only access debit card issued to in the name of the minor. The Parent/Guardian must sign the Responsibility for Joint Saving Account/ATM Debit Card with a Minor form at account opening.
- 14 years old^ can open a savings account no debit card with the Parent/Guardian.
**With proper identification - driver's license or passport
^Acceptable ID - social security card for the minor
Break Through Account: *To qualify for the matching cash reward, you must open a savings account with a minimum deposit of $5. Picatinny Federal Credit Union (PFCU) will match up to $50 of your initial deposit. The matching cash reward will be credited to the new savings account immediately, but will be held for a period of 60 days. The account must remain open for a minimum of 60 days to receive the offer. Cash reward is considered interest and will be reported on IRS form 1099-INT. Contact PFCU for details.
